Extension Activities
A. Training programme:
  • Organised farmer’s training on integrated fish farming for 45 farmers and distributed fish seed to 16 fish farmers under TSP programme at Village Salmatta, Sitarganj on 19th Dec. 2017.
  • Organised skill oriented training to 33 progressive farmers of Almora district (Uttarakhand) on 28 Oct. 2017.
  • Organised skill oriented training to 6 progressive farmers of Tawang and East Siang district (Arunachal Pradesh) during 13-16 Oct. 2017. 
  • Conducted workshop on “Connecting People, Fish and Nature” in collaboration of Jasingfaa Aqua tourism centre, Nagaon, Assam on 15th Oct. 2017.
  • Organised three days hands on training under STC for 18 tribal farmers (6 women) of J & K and Uttarakhand. 
  • Organised Fish farmer’s day on 29th July, 2017 at DCFR-Experimental Fish farm, Champawat. Improved common carp seed was distributed to farmers. 
  • Organised field day on 14th August & 18 th August, 2017 at DCFR-Experimental Fish farm, Champawat. Improved common carp seed was distributed to farmers.
  • Organised Shanklap se sidhi and awareness programme on 20th August, 2017 under NSPPD programme at DCFR-Experimental Fish farm, Champawat.
  • ICAR- DCFR, Bhimtal and State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Jammu jointly organized three days training programme on Fish Breeding Techniques during 24th to 26th July, 2017 at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Main Campus Chatha, Jammu.
  • Organised Fish farmer’s day on 10th July, 2017 at DCFR-Experimental Fish farm, Champawat. Improved common carp seed was distributed to 13 selected farmers on this occasion.
  • Organised “World Soil Day” on 5th December, 2017. A total of 50 participants including 24 progressive fish farmers from district Nainital participated in the event.
B. Other events:
  • Organised National Seminar on “Strategies, innovations and sustainable management for enhancing Coldwater Fisheries and Aquaculture” during 22-24 Sept. 2017.
  • Organising SwachhataPakhawada event under Swachh Bharat Mission action from 16-31 May. 
  • Mahseer ranching programme under the fishery programme of National Mission for clean Ganga (NMCG) at LaxmanJhula, Rishikesh on 23.5.2017 in collaboration with CIFRI, Barrockpore. .
  • Organised World Environment Day by plantation at Bhimtal on 5th June 2017.
  • Organised International Yoga day on 21st June, 2017.
  • Organised Hindi SaptahSamaroh during 14-20 Sept. 2017.
  • Organising “Swachhataheesevahai” programme from 15th Sept. 2017.
  • Organised “Vigilance awareness week” during 28th Oct.  to 4 th Nov. 2017.
  • Organized “Agriculture Education Day” on 3rd December, 2017 with participation of 125 students of Lakes International School, BhimtalNainital. A Quiz Competition on the topic “Indian Agriculture” and a lecture on the topic “Role of Agriculture in the development of India and Agriculture Education: Its role and importance” were conducted during the event.
