Seed and Feed Distribution to Tribal Fish Farmers Adopted by DCFR Bhimtal Under TSP Programme
Under the TSP project five ponds belonging to tribal farmers in Nanakmatha area of Uttarakhand were renovated. After lime application and fertilization the ponds were stocked with fingerlings of Catla, Rohu, Grass carp and the improved variety of fast growing Hangarian carp. The farmers were given hands on training for scientific management of ponds for fish culture. Dr. A. Barat, Director and Dr. P.K. Sahoo, Nodal officer TSP visited the ponds on 22.10.2013 along with Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Sr. Scientist & Head and Dr. S. Chandra, Sr. Scientist of Champawat centre and interacted with the farmers. Farmers were provided with all critical inputs. The programme is coordinated by Champawat field centre.
