ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research distributed fish feed and seed under SC SP Programme to the Farmers of Harinagar, Bhimtal on 06.11.2020
An initiative to develop fish farming in a cluster mode pellated fish feed and advanced fingerlings of grass carp, silver carp and common carp was distributed to 25 SC farmers on 06.11.2020 at village Harinagar. These selected farmers are regularly receiving technical guidance from the Directorate in preparing and maintaining their fish ponds During the programme, 30 bags of pellated feed and 25 packets of advanced fish fingerlings were given to the farmers.
Dr. Debajit Sarma, Director, DCFR, Bhimtal expressed his happiness for organizing this programme and encouraged farmers to utilize the locally available aquatic resources for development of fisheries and for income generation in the area. Gram Pradhan Saladi, BDC member along with 65 fish farmers and villagers were present in the programme. Dr. Suresh Chandra, Pr. Scientist coordinated the programme.
